PORT ELLIOT NETBALL CLUB
Joining the club in 1990 with her two girls Anthea began playing, coaching and umpiring in her very first season and has not stopped since. She became secretary the very next year (1991) and has held that position every year since bar one. She has played an impressive 285 games for the club, has umpired an amazing 425 games and has coached an inspiring 850 games! Anthea achieved 10 year player status in 1999 and life membership in 2005. The jobs and responsibilities that come with being secretary of a club for more than 25 years (yes, before emails) are too numerous to mention and even though Anthea’s own children have grown you will still find her setting up courts every home game, umpiring and doing any job that needs to be done without complaint or fuss. She coaches multiple teams each and every year and has a great affinity with all the juniors at the club and likes to be involved in their development. Which has resulted in an extremely close knit supportive environment within which our juniors develop. Anthea is the go to person for any advice, help, support and coaching tips. She has amassed a vast amount of knowledge which she is more than happy to help pass on to the next generation of netballers through coaching and mentoring. She is an extremely warm and caring person and I admire and praise her for her efforts and wonderful attitude that has helped shape and grow an extremely warm and supportive culture at our club. She always acts with the clubs best interests at heart and Port Elliot Netball club would not be the same without her, so from me and everyone involved in our club, Thank You Anthea and good luck!
