NEWTOWN CONDINGUP FOOTBALL CLUB
At 18 years of age, Dane epitomises ‘Goodsports’. The youngest of 4 boys (who all played for the Newtown Condingup Football Club), Dane has come through NCFC junior ranks. Unfortunately, the rising star, has been sidelined through a shoulder injury for most of the season however persisted with rehab, trained and qualified kicking the winning goal in last week’s prelim. As a youngster Dane was regularly running water/boundary/team runner and this year despite his injury has been active in other roles around the club.
Dane is regularly in the canteen helping out mum Sue (canteen manager), marking grounds, stocking the fridges, manning the bar. What is particularly endearing about Dane, is that he does not have to be asked to do something – he just simply does it.
At the tender age of 18, Dane is highly responsible with alcohol. He takes his RSA accreditation very seriously and in the spirit of ‘Goodsports’ he looks after team mates when they need it, frequently driving members home after training, games and other social events. Dane, with his happy, helpful disposition is a well liked and respected player/member of the NCFC making him our ‘Beating Heart’ for 2016.
