MOUNT BARKER FOOTBALL CLUB
Frank has been involved in Mount Barker Football Club and on the senior committee for many years due to his sons being involved. At the end of 2015 Frank also put forward to the committee that he would like to get a few Women’s teams up and running for the club for the SAWFL. From there, over the past year, Frank has worked tirelessly to get a Senior Women’s side up and running and also an U18’s side up and running. He has put word out to women all over the Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula about the teams and has also managed to get a coach for both teams. The Mount Barker Football Club now has over 75 women/girls registered thanks to Frank and he is also looking to expand next year and create an U15s team.
Without Frank, Mount Barker never would have had two women’s teams for the 2016 season. He is out at every training (twice a week) and also attends all matches on Fridays or Sundays as well as juggling being a District Manager for ANZ!
Although the season started of shaky with a lack of volunteers to help him out, he has ended the season magnificently and has been able to get all the women/girls and their families on board to help out and do odd jobs each day to keep the team up and running. He is also the Number 1 team runner on match day and is able to network so well with all the girls and get to know them all.
He is by far the beating heart of the Mount Barker Football Club and should be recognised for his outstanding and endless volunteer work.
