Phil’s dedication to the Hervey Bay Hockey Association and the sport is evidenced by his involvement in the sport as a player, its development and introduction to the community through running endless hockey programs for juniors through the association and in the local schools of the area.
Phil has many roles within the organisation as follows:
Vice President HBHA, Committee Member & Team Delegate. The HBHA Development Officer. The HBHA Umpire Coordinator and mentor for all junior and senior umpires – he umpires junior and senior games each week.
HBHA Junior Representative Team Coach – U/13, U/15 & U/18 . HBHA Runs fitness and coaching programs for local juniors player who have been selected for state representative duties.
Assistance Coach QLD U/15 boys representative team. Selector – Local & Regional Representative Players. Coach & Player the HBHA Men’s Reserve and ‘A’ grade teams. Coach & player in the HBHA Premier League Men & Women’s teams. Coach HBHA U/16 teams. Runs HA Hookin2hockey program. Runs the HBHA U/10 skills & training program. Runs the HBHA Grounds maintenance program. Administrator and caretaker of the Synthetic water base turf. HBHA Competition organiser (raises draws team selection etc). HBHA Judiciary member. HBHA Carpenter and general maintenance person. Phil is a dedicated family man with three young children under 8, who has been selected for National representation in the Australian O/35 Masters men team. Phil’s passion for the game and his association drives the sport of hockey not only for the association but sport as a healthy part of life in the community. Finally the association would not evolve and continue to grow without the dedication of Phil, particularly with regards to nurturing and mentoring the juniors which are the grass roots of any organisations future.
